I have a windows partition on my mac and it's only 10GB large. I have saved some stuff on it also. Now I want to make the partition larger. When I do this, will it completely erase everything I have saved on that partition?

  1. This is possible but it's not easy!

I haven't tried this myself, but many others have and it appears to work. Before you start make sure to do a backup of all your important files and data (off your computer onto an external drive)

Here's the link... told you it wasn't easy!

Personally, I think the easiest thing to do, would be to backup all your important windows files to external disc, or cd/dvd and then to reinstall the windows partition.

To reinstall, open the bootcamp assistant again (after you've made your backup) and delete the bootcamp partition. Then after it is deleted, open the bootcamp assistant for a second time to go through the process of creating a new, larger, bootcamp partition.

  2. I believe so.  To make it larger, you must erase the partition completely and build a brand new partition.
