  1. You won't find any investors that will touch you with a 10 foot pole unless you OWN it, and it works.  If someone else can come in and claim rights to your ideas, then they are out of money, and no way to recoupe their investment.  It would have been a better investment for them to wipe their butts with the bills and then flush them.

You can do the leg work yourself.  You can also talk to a patent attourney to get advice.  I don't think consultation fees will cost you an arm and a leg.  You could call around to compare rates as well as who they have worked with in the past or currently.  Spending good money on a stupid lawyer is flushed cash.

I hope this helps, and good luck.

  2. Years ago you had to provide a working prototype, but that changed in 1998. Now all you have to do is explain it well enough in your description that anyone in the industry understands it well enough to build it.

    .................................

Just stay away from marketing firms or invention companies, they are complete ripoffs.

You can spend about $250.00 to have a patent search done and about $200.00 to file a provisional application yourself. This will give you a one year time frame before you have to file your utility patent, mean while you can be looking for investors.

  3. Several ways to seek investors...

You need to make a prototype and have it work... then maybe you can get investors.

There have been so many scams about electric cars that you'll have to prove it works before anyone will believe you.

  4. Draw out schematics, patent it and and then shop around for a loan.   Some places do all three, but it will cost some to get started and you may be turning over a percentage to them.

But if you're pretty sure it will be a success, do it.

  5. I AM SHURE A FEW  WEEKS BACK THAT THE TODAY SHOW HAD AN INVENTER ON .I WOULD CONTACT THE TO DAY SHOW,AND GET MORE INFO ON THAT..

  6. Get a job at one of the companies researching it would be my suggestion.  But you could always pay for the research and patent rights yourself.

But there is no such thing as "self-powered."  You must refuel or recharge any portable energy consuming device.  Even humans have to eat.

  7. Have a working model for demonstration and hope like h**l somebody doesn't knock you off or steal your idea . Somebody that has money to invest could just change one little idea on it and patent it them self .

Ive had patent pending before even went through one of the company's that market it for you and they stole every idea that i had piece by piece .

Its a dog eat dog world money talks and bull c**p walks if they tell you different there after your idea .

Either sell the idea and make some money or have allot of money to invest.

  8. I have too, it's called the Chevrolet Volt.
