I'm mainly wondering will I still be able to get scholarships?

I hear that UT austin almost always pays at least 2/3 for in-state national merit scholars.

I also do a lot of extra-curricular with debate

  1. How is a 3.0 bad? Unless it's on a 5 point scale, a 3.0 is good.

Of course you'll still be able to get scholarships, not necessarily the National Merit Scholarships. What you'll need is an SAT score and then you will truly know what you are qualified to get. With a near perfect ACT score you are likely to get offers of full-tuition scholarships from the universities directly.

  2. A 3.0 GPA is actaully prett good. Most merit scholarships reqire a 3.0 so you should be fine.

  3. I was under the impression that a MERIT SCHOLAR  was an A Plus student in markings, had a record of extra cirricular activities and outstanding SAT scores. In my day 3.0 was a B average just a step above normal,  and we were looking for jobs never mind further education.
