  1. Go to KBB.com to price it accurately (and for your zone / area ).

    Good luck...

  2. Going in with cash in your pocket is not wise.   It is better to have an agent hold it for you.

As I am a great bloke always ready to help my fellow man / women

send me the money and I will send you a car

You do agree that this sounds to be a wise choice.

    Other than that.

As you know ho much you have, just wander in and see whats on offer.

But dont let your self look all that interested as they will pick that up.

Make him make you want the car.

And remember when its looking tight for him and he says no,  ask him if he is a seller or a collector.   Because the next guy is a seller.

  3. yeah if you actually have the money that you could buy the car outright, then i bet the dealer would even let you talk him down a few thousand.

then tell him to the price while you go 'check' on some other vehicles. and then come back later with someone to look at the car, and by that time, i am sure that you could have visited the KBB website for the value from the mileage and options

who knows, you might even find something better at another dealership with the same car?, it's best to look around, do lots of test drives and get other people's opinion on it, especially if you know anyone that is mechanically inclined.... not to mention, ask for the Vehicle report on any car you choose, don't forget to check the date of print out... or be there at the computer to see it for yourself

  4. There are a bunch of places to check car prices on the Internet. NADA guides is one - but since they are owned by the car dealers association I never recommend them. KBB is another. Driverside.com is a new site and they have some cool data showing price based on mileage.

The dealership wants to know you have the ability to pay - cash or financing.  In many cases they get a commission on financing so paying in cash might mean less profit for the dealership.
