Hi y'all I wanted to ask If I have custody of my cousin can she live on post with me and my hubby after bct and ait? And will they give me extra money for her? And will she be covered under all our benifiets ie.. Medical, Dental, and Schooling? Thanks for the info.

  1. as long as you can provide legal paperwork then you should be able to enroll her in deers and tricare, the dental i am sure you can too - the monthly premium will just go up a little bit. No you dont get extra money for more dependants, you will just get the bah ans bas that you would get either way since yall are married. As for benefits for schoolin i am not sure what you mean, but last time i talked to someone about the GI bill - it does not transfer to anyone except your spouse after you have served active duty for six years. I dont even think the new gi bill that goes into effect next year will allow you to touch it..not totally sure though - if you have any more questions feel free to email me - carolin.arrington@yahoo.com


  2. If you have legal custody, then yes you should be able to.  If they allow you to, she would get TriCare, dental care (through United Concordia) if you pay for it, and I'm not sure what schooling you are talking about.  No, you don't get extra money for kids and dependents.
