If I have felonies, And drug charges, how do I get off the street?

The Felonies ae over 10 years old, the last mist. drug Parafinlia charge was 3 years ago. I have a job. My problem is background checks for low income housing, y job only pays minimum wage, so between apts and electric and food, i CANT afford a "normal" apartment, I have to have somthing afforidable, Hud Will not help. Any other suggestions? Ive been going for help now for 2 years, Public housing, Hud , section8, Etc are not willing to help.

I think what a lot of you are doing to this man that is asking for help on what to do is just plain wrong!  He has made the first step in admitting he made mistakes and is asking what he can do to get a house or apt.  Who said he was drinking booze or doing drugs, he said he was arrested for selling drugs.  Most drug dealers do not use drugs.  The main thing here is, it looks like he is trying to change.  I think most of you are calling the pot black.  Like you never did anything bad in your past?  It's called "a second chance."

To answer your question.  I didn't know hud can turn you down because of past felonies?  I don't thank that is true.  Go to your local Adult and Family Services they might be able to help answer your questions better that what you might get here.  Seems to be too much hate.

Just hang in there.  And stay out of trouble.
