If I have free wifi, do I need a router for it to work?

If so, which one do you recommend? I have a HP pavilion notebook laptop!

  1. Piggybacking off another person's wifi is always illegal, whether you're cracking their encryption or not.  It's theft of a service.

    That being said, if the wifi available to you is intentionally made freely available to the public, just connect to the network and surf away.


  2. ya, or you can connect off other peoples routers, its not illegal unless you crack ther wep or wpa if its unsecure then you can use it

  3. If you can connect to a service in the area already then no, you don't need a router because you're using someone else's.
