If I have lost my social security card as well as my birth certificate how do I get replacements for both?

I have medical records, high school and college transcripts as well as my drivers license, but I lost both my birth certificate and my social security card and need replacements in order to get a new job. Please help!

  1. You don't need a Social Security Card for a job (if you have your passport.

    If you want to apply for replacement birth certificate, please contact the local health official of your place of birth for detail.

    For Social Security Card, go to Social Security Office to apply an replacement.


  2. it takes a while, but you have to go through the county court in the county you were born in and put in a request for a replacement, so if you don't live in the same county now you can either drive to that county, or call the court and find out how you can do it

  3. I got a copy of my birth certificate online. I went to the website for the state I was born in and filled out some information. I had to pay around $20 to get it but it came in the mail pretty quickly. Since you have a piece of photo ID it should be pretty easy for you.
