  1. I don't think you can, the file needs to be converted back to generic word format for you to see.  You will need access to a computer that has 2007 on it or if you got the file from someone else, as them to save it in an earlier version of word.  To do that, they would do a "save as"  Word 97-2003 format


  2. microsoft has a free "compatability pack" available for download that will let you open Office 2007 docs.
