  1. just substract it from what you shot to get your handicap score.

  2. Golf is the only sport where a poor or mediocre player can compete with the better golfer.  An official handicap is based on the 10 best of the last 20 rounds played, compared to par with a formula applied to arrive at the handicap. Each hole on the golf course is rated for difficulty from 1 to 18. In stroke play( total score for the round) if  played as gross score, no handicap is used. In net play the persons score is reduced by the handicap to arrive at the net score with lowest net score being the winner. In match play, player against player, where handicap is used. the differential between the players is determined. and the strokes will be given to the poorer player on the most difficult. You are 6, I am 5. You will receive a stroke on the hole designated as the #1 handicap hole. If we have the same score on hole #1 you will win due to the handicap stroke..

  3. The handicap is used so that you could compete with better players. The goal of the handicap is to bring you back to even par. So if you average 5 over in a game then your handicap is 5. Everytime you finish a round you subtract your handicap to you score for example if you have a score of 80 and your handicap is 5 , then your final score will be 75.

  4. Tiger Woods.

  5. for example i have a 7 handicap and i shoot a 79. you subtract 7 from ur total score and that will be ur handicap score
