  1. no, you do not.  The only people that need to but the converter box are those that are receiving TV signals fromrm antenna. Your cable provider will be converting the signal for you.

    When you think about it, they have to. If you were required to but a converter box to receive a signal that you are paying for anyway, most people would leave cable and go with the digital signal sent by satellite companies.

    I have had to find out about this conversion because my grandmother lives in the country and uses an antenna.
