If I have two large envelopes, how much stamps do I need?

I have two large envelopes that I'm sending that have pretty light weight books inside of them. I don't know the exact weight but they are probably between 2-4 pounds. If I have regular stamps that you put on envelopes, how much of those stamps do I need to put on each of my envelopes?
