  1. It'll be more work on your part to actually send out your application and make sure you get all the requirements because normally your guidance counselor at school would take care of some of the housekeeping for you. Otherwise, depending on your scores and the schools, you might have a better chance than a public school kid.

  2. I was homeschooled K-12 and was accepted to every college I applied too.  And my ACT test score was nothing amazing.  College like to be diverse and homeschoolers bring unique diversity.

  3. Homeschooling may actually broaden your range of colleges, as long as your coursework and test scores are up to par.  Colleges and universities pretty much love homeschoolers - many openly court and even have grant money set aside specifically for homeschoolers.

Because homeschoolers, statistically, are more independent and responsible for their education (because they've had to be), they generally do very well at college.  Colleges know this and are very, very open to homeschool students.  Even Ivy League universities accept homeschoolers.

Like I said, your coursework and test scores have to be what they're looking for, so I suggest you order catalogs for schools that you're looking at; knowing what they want ahead of time can be a huge help in formatting your coursework.  Honestly, my son's in middle school and I'm already doing this - just so that I know what various colleges will want to see on his transcript.  Homeschooling, though, can be definitely be a plus for college admissions.

    Hope that helps!

  4. it doesn't affect any chance of getting into any college or university. the schools are also looking for unique people. i know one person who was home schooled and got into John Hopkins so it doesn't really make a difference.

    Hope this helps!

  5. As long as you use a challenging course of study, it will not make it harder to get in, it will quite likely make it easier.

  6. Absolutely! In a positive way, that is. My son was accepted at several universities. Two solicited him because of his homeschooling experiences. Just keep good records of your coursework (tests, research papers, essays) as some schools want to see a portfolio.
