If I import Canon XL2 footage into my computer from a lowergrade camcorder, will I lose quality?

I recorded about 25 hours worth of footage with a Canon XL2 (MiniDV), and I'm trying to import it into my computer using a much lowergrade JVC camcorder. Will I lose quality doing this?

nope....I used to do it all the time at the company I worked for.  It was recorded to Betacam, transferred to MiniDV, then captured using a crappy $200 camera.

still was betacam quality.
