Question:

If I increase my tire size, do I need to go up to the next tube size also?

I'll be changing my rear tire size from a 110/90-16 to a 120/90-16 since 110/90-16 seem to be no longer manufactured for rear tires.

The manual calls for a 4.60-16 tube to go with the original tire. Do I need to stick with that sized tube for the new tire, or go up to the next size (seem to be 5.10-16)?

  1. you can straight away use the old tube in the new size tyre. The width of 10mm will not be noticeble at all, nor can be easily mearured after inflation. It is usually a marketing gimmic to sell the tube along with the tyre under pretext of next size needs a new tube though an old tube is ok for this wider size.

  2. Mabey not since they are both 16" tires .

  3. you can stay with the normal size tube (4.60-16 )

it is only a slight change, not noticible

  4. You can use the same tube.
