Question:

If I install Windows XP SP3, will it change/ install Movie Maker again, or make any changes to it?

My movie maker right now is 2.0 and it has this problem, and i have windows xp sp2. So if i install xp sp3, will it correct the problem or will it make a change on movie maker?

  1. It may. Microsoft seems to group all of their OS fixes into one service pack lately.


  2. hi systri, window xp sp3 is still windows xp by any other name so no it will not definitly not. so if it is service pack two or service pack 1 windows xp is windows xp. but now if you were going with vista than yes you would have to update your software and i found that out when i upgraded to vista. all service packs is more security or an add on to the service pack that you already had downloaded but while we are on this subject let me tell you what i read about service packs when this copy of windows came out which there is a lot of them people was complaining now they have their own people that just does nothing but stays on the computer all day long a part of quality control so they test it and find that the complaint is sound so they come out with another service pack that can correct these issues. but they are still windows xp just a different service pack. hope i explained that good enough and i wish you good luck hope i was helpful to you

  3. Doubt it very much but then again what have you got to lose as security updates such as SP3 help keep the virus wolf from the door.
