  1. yep, people can track you if you are using LAN

  2. only if there using the computer

  3. YES THEY CAN.

If they control the gateway (which they probably do since its their network) , they can do whatever they want, including reading your traffic.

On the other hand, this is not really common, and most people would not bother to do it.

  4. yes , but it Wald be headache for them to do so

  5. If you mean network like LAN, where you are using their connection to access the www,  yes they can.

  6. Short answer is probably not.

If they have an open network, they are probably not very tech savvy anyway and wouldn't know how to track your steps.

There is software out there to track usage of network users, but its business grade software, and very very expensive. My company spent 30 thousand dollars for servers that monitor the internet usage of our employees and they are considering selling them to someone else because it is just so cumbersome and hard to manage.

In the case of a home network, it is far easier to just secure your router so that outside users cant get in at all than to let them in, and the monitor what they do. It's just not logical.

So unless someone has a lot of time and money , and has left thier network open just so they can monitor what you do, more than likely they will never even realize that you are connected, Let alone what you do when you are.
