  1. When they send you to Iraq.

You won't miss any more meetings. <}:-{(

  2. No, but if I were the recruiter I would probably take you over to the Army recruiter. If you are that irresponsible your time in the Navy is going to be very hard and miserable. Being on time is the first part of being a good sailor and the easiest.

  3. no. you're not in the navy yet just dep. i don't even think the meetings are mandatory if you don't want to move up to e-2 or e-3 before going to boot camp.

  4. No. But your recruiter should just drop you and cut his losses. You are not ready for the individual responsibility that comes with serving in the armed forces. You haven't joined the Navy since you haven't taken your oath of enlistment as yet. As a retired Navy officer with 25 years of service I will light a candle this Sunday and thank my God that you haven't been sworn in as yet.

  5. Yes.  From the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) Article X:

    885. ART. 85. DESERTION (c) Any person found guilty of desertion or attempt to desert shall be punished, if the offense is committed in time of war, by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct, but if the desertion or attempt to desert occurs at any other time, by such punishment, other than death, as a court-martial may direct.
