  1. you should get one from your shelter NOT a pet store.. sometimes they come with free cages, they are usually friendlier and for sure cheaper...

  2. Well, i shop there too and a basic Critter Trail cage is about 35 bucks, Bedding and food ten dollars each. Also you could spend about 15 bucks on hamster toys and a house for him to sleep in.

  3. Like a total starter. He is a rough estimate but could be way off because I am using pet store prices.

    1. Hamster 15.99

    2. Cage 29.99 (get as big as you can and not one of those dumb plastic ones)

    3. small water bottle 5.99

    4. Food 7.99

    5. Food dish 3.99

    6. Wooden chew sticks .88 @ walmart but more expensive I imagine at petsmart

    7. Bedding- I use yesterdays news and it is like $7.00 for a bag.

    Get a multi-level cage too!

    Oh don't forget the igloo-around 7.99 I believe

All in All you need to have at least: $75-$90 i'd say in order to get started.

  4. Ok go to Pet Supermarket! They have REALLY cute hamsters for anywhere from $5-$10 which is a good bargain! Get all your supplies from  Pet Supermarket. In total on my hamster I spent $63! I hope this helps. :)
