  1. Contact the company which admitted you to the program,as long as you didnt run away from an employer, they would take care of it for you.

    Unfortunately, most J1 visas state"one entry"which if you wanted to cross the border and come again would require you to have your visa changed.If it says multiply entry, then there's no problem.

    The only problem here is"

    An official at the border will be thinking;

    "He's a student he's crossing the border 2 weeks before his visa expires, he probably wants to extend his visa so we're not letting him in"

    The truth is, if you didnt want to stay in America you wouldn't want to come  back here two weeks before your visa expiration.

    Nobody's gonna believe that you're gonna stay only 2 weeks here and then go back to your home country.

    You can always take the risk, but the chances are slim.

  2. What kind of visa?  Multiple entry?  Is it renewable or not?  It depends on the answers to these questions.  If you are allowed back in, it is only for those few days until your visa expires, so I hope you have packed and are ready to return home.

  3. As long as the visa is still valid then it is still a legal document to *request* permission to enter the United States.

    There are no guarantees you would be granted entry, there never are, regardless of how long is left on a visa.
