Ok, so my boyfriend and I were driving to St. Augustine and not even a cop but one of those people who supposedly can only pull semi trucks over and picks up trash on the highway pulls us over becasue we went too fast. My boyfriend got a ticket for driving to fast but he was driving MY car, so we showed the cop MY insurance for MY car. Will they mail the charge to my house or will it show up on the insurance when i get it or is it just a speeding ticket and they won't mail us a warning if we just pay it?

thanks

  1. If your boyfriend was driving and he was stopped for speeding then the ticket is his.

It is routine for the officer to ask to see your registration and insurance for the vechile that is being driven. The ticket will not show up on your insurance, nor is it your responsibility. If there is points it will show up on his license and insurance.

  2. It's HIS conviction/fine. Don't worry, it's on his state/province driving record.

It will show up on his insurance if/when his insurance does a lookup of his driving record. Some companies only do this every two years because it costs them a few bucks for each lookup. 1 conviction won't change his rates too much.

  3. It wont effect you at all. It all falls on the driver. The cop only wanted to see if you had insurance. The ticket is made out to the driver, and is mailed to the address on the drivers lisence. the car makes no difference...unless its stolen.

and just fyi...if he was able to write you a ticket, hes a cop and should be respected as such.

  4. One of my friends asked me this kind of questions before,I found helpful here.http://car-insurance.online-helpers.info...

  5. If it was a camera yes it will, but you can go to court and take a copy of your driver's license and tell them who was driving it and you'll be ok.
