If I live in South Carolina and work in Georgia, which state do i draw unemployment from if my plant closes?

  1. You would apply for unemployment in South Carolina.

    But it would be based on what Georgia pays for unemployment.

    So if Georgia pays more, your in luck.

    If Georgia pays less, then your out of luck.

    But your unemployment is based on where you work, not where you live.


  2. That would be Georgia.  All your taxes, workmans comp, and unemloyment would be payed by your employer in the state you are working.

    Also remember, even though you live in South Carolina, you will have to file a Georgia state tax.

  3. it would be your homestate since you have no more connections in Georgia
