You are comparing volume (2 cups) with mass (grams). Which is much like comparing apples and oranges.  In order to figure this out, you would need to know what the density of that particular type of sugar is. (such as 1.10 g/cm3)

One tablespoon is approxamatly 4 grams of sugar.  One cup is about 16 tablespoons, so two cups is 32 tablespoons.  32 x 4 = 128 grams of sugar.

8oz.=1/8 gallon

1/8 of 2 cups =1/16 cup

64grams/cup X 1/16 cup= 4 grams of sugar
