If I mail a package on a Saturday morning, is it possible for it to reach its destination on Monday?

I'm mailing from San Jose to waaayyyyyyy down in El Cajon (Southern California). I don't know whether to go UPS or FED EX, who would be cheaper??

i overnighted a package from virginia to california with the usps and it was there in under 24 hours. cost around 21 dollars. not sure about ups or fedex although i'm sure the rates are comparable.
