I am engaged to a man from Dominica island, I am Canadian. We will be married there and remain to live there for some time. If we marry can I stay there, live and work there because I married a man from there? How does it work? Also is there a Dominican embassy in Canada? I have been unable to find one. Also as a Canadian how long can I stay in Dominica with a visa or with out? Much thanks in advance. I will need friends once I get there too lol... how non chalant was that eh lol..

Canadians are allowed to stay in Dominica up to 21 Days with no visa. After that you will have to apply for a visa at the OECS High Commission in Ottawa. Their contact info is:

In most countries, marriage to a citizen does NOT give you the priviledge of living and working in that country without applying for the appropriate visas.  Dominica does not appear to hace embassies!  You are going to have to work to find the info.   Start with the site below and click on  " country information".. It will give you the contact info of the Canadian High Comission in Dominica.  THEY will probably be your BEST source of help

If you are a US citizen and wish to keep your citizenship you can apply for dual-citizenship where you are recognized as a legal citizen of both countries.  Generally speaking Dominica does not have a problem with immigration so your husband should not have a problem filing your paperwork.  Here's the info for the emabassies.
