  1. Not automatically.  You still need to apply for a work visa.

  2. You would only be able to work in the US legally when you file the necessary paperwork and receive employment authorization and a Social Security Number.

  3. If you check with the Embassy's you will find the green card is not automatic, they will let you know all the rules and regulations

  4. you would have to visit the closest American Embassy or Consulate to fill out the proper paperwork. A navy buddy of mine married a Welsh girl and I drove them to the American Embassy to clear her for life in the USA, but that was before 9/11, it probably more of a pain in the **** now

  5. No. Your American citizen spouse must apply for a spousal visa for you and this can easily take 2 to 3 years.  The only other way to work legally in the U.S. is to get a contract with an American employer for a specific period of time...and this is very difficult.  Sometimes it is actually better for the American toapply for a fiance visa for the other person.... thiscan prevent a long separation from each other after you are married.  See site below.

  6. YES, you will be able to work in the US. It is a long and tedious process but doable if you are patient.

  7. It may be better to have your US boyfriend/girlfriend to file a Fiance' Visa (K1).  The K1 visa processing takes about 6 months, faster than the spousal visa. Once you arrive in the US, you can apply for work authorization (I-765), and may start working right away.  See link to the USCIS site below. Good luck!
