I am removing litter pan from a room I plan to rent out and wondering if kitties will get used to new location in house? They were loyal users and no accidents.

  1. Yes they will I have moved my cats litter box many times and always gets use to it I've been doing it since he was a baby now hes 3 years old. I am sure they will just make sure you show them where it is I always did that with my kitty.

  2. They should as long as they know where it is and know not to go anywhere else in the house.

  3. Move it a short distance each day so they don't get confused at it suddenly vanishing from where they've been used to finding it (or they might get confused and mess in the place it used to be).  Move it before cleaning it so they can detect it by their own scent in there.

Alternatively, get a second litter tray and wait for them to learn to use that in the new location and then remove the first one from the room you plan to rent.  It's always good to have a spare tray in case one gets damaged.

  4. If possible, you should move it gradually, at about a foot or two each day. Gradual changes are best, (just like how you change their food little by little by adding more of the new food to the old food each day).

  5. You could also give them two litter boxes for a while, one in the new spot and one in the old......then remove the old once thy have gotten used to going in the new spot.

  6. They should still use the litter pan. But you have to make sure you introduce them to the new location!

You have to put them in the pan a few times the 1st day and they will get to know the new location!

    Good luck!
