If I need to take a ship from San Francisco to Florida, through Panama. How do I find fueling centers?

Centers specifically in Central America - near Panama - on either coast. 175 ft vessel

  1. I have a GPS that I can either download or buy data cards that have that info on them. If you are taking a 175 ft. vessel that far I would think that you must have some knowledge to plan (chart) this type of voyage. I am a USCG Licensed Captain and would be more than  glad to help you on this trip.


  2. ships transit the panama canal all the time, often taking bunkers on either side. to maximize their loads they will often sail with minimum bunkers and after transiting the canal, they will then take on bunkers for the rest of their journey.  check with any agent in the canal area and they can advise fueling companies in the area.
