  1. get an attorney.  ask friends for referrals of family attorneys they know about.

  2. this happened to my mom to soon child protective services will take the daughter away from its present guardian if he or she isnt fit to be the guardian..... then u step in with a lawyer and stuff and u will soon have custody but through a number of steps ( it takes a little while)..... if u dont do this though your grandaughter will probably be in a foster home...... but if u just want to adopt her from your son or daughter and they are fine parents they just dont want the baby anymore then just take it to a lawyer............hope i could help and good luck!...:D

  3. Child services. However if the mother isnt a threat to the child, then you dont have much choice. The mother can pick someone else to be the babys guardian if she wants too.

  4. Well I know where I live we don't have anything called Grand Parent rights anymore. Grand Parent rights are kinda like if the parents don't want their children to see the grand parents, but the grand parents can go to court to get visitation rights. We used to have them here but I dunno about other states. Anyway, go to a lawyer. I'm sure he will be able to answer any questions you have. Good luck!

  5. You need to contact Deptartment of Human Services, and a lawyer/attourney. There must be a reason why you want to get gaurdianship. If the child is in harms ways, contact DHS first. Unfortunatly, alot of times, if the grandparents are ove a certain age, or widowed, this prevents the law from placing the child in their care, and therefore the child is sent to live with foster care. But if you have a good lawyer, and end up in court, you could win this.

  6. Depends on the reason you need to get it.  If the child is not being cared for properly, child protective services might get the job done quick as a blink.  But don't call them if there is any chance YOU might not be seen as a fit parent.

  7. A lawyer,
