Question:

If I never recall having dreams does that mean I do not have them or am I just in too deep a sleep ?

Everyone I know has dreams and can remember something of them but I seem to go to sleep and then wake up with nothing in between. I cannot ever remember having a dream.

Does anyone else not have or just not remember dreams or can anyone explain why it happens?

  1. you are so lucky.   i will bet you sleep real good and that you do sleep deep.  you do have dreams though.  it is ok not to remember, also.

  2. I'm the same way. I'm a really really deep sleeper so I don't ever remember my dreams unless my alarm goes off in the middle of them. I basically just pass out on my pillow at night and wake up.. there's nothing in between. I know other people like this too so it's perfectly normal, I bet you're just a deep sleeper like me :)

  3. Some people say that if you leave the light on when you go to sleep, you're more likely to remember your dreams. maybe it's because you don't go into such a deep sleep

  4. We all dream but it takes an image or sound to remind you of the dream.

  5. everyone dreams....its essential to learning...if you dont remember them, it dosent mean ur not having them. Psychologists have proved that we actually have on average 5 dreams per night, but we dont remember most of them, obviously.  The ones we remember are the ones where u come close to waking up. Animals dream as well...we all do.

  6. You only remember dreams if your sleep is disturbed in the middle of it.  That doesn't necessarily mean waking up, but rolling over for example is enough.  if you don't, then you will not remember the dream.  Everyone dreams.

  7. It's only a matter of what you want to recall- we all dream, every night, but if they are mundane, of little interest, it's just cranial house keeping.

I have had a few dreams that I thought might be significant, and seemed definitive just before awakening, but simply vaporized, just by turning over. This is frustrating to one who likes to keep track of dreams..

  8. It doesn't matter what dream it is, we don't just have one, we have several and if you wake up in the middle of one, you'll probably still be half asleep, and you'll also probably be fading from dream-world to reality. It's sort of hard to remember what went on when you realize your awake.
