If I opened a checking account with a social security check would I be able to withdraw money right away?

I just got approved and I'll be getting my first check soon. I don't have a bank account.

When you get it open a bank account and deposit a small amount into it and take the rest in cash.............

When you open the account, just ask them to cash the check. Keep what you want to keep in cash, and deposit the rest into the account. Just make sure you ask them to cash it before you deposit it, otherwise it can take up to nine business days to get the full amount (depending on what it is) because the account was opened in the last 30 days. Because it is a check from the government you shouldn't have any trouble getting it cashed on the spot.
