If I order something online with my debit card....?

How long will it take for it to charge my account (approx.)? and also If I overdraft, and put money in the bank the same day will I get charged a fee? I have a standard Bank of America account.

  1. Debit card transactions will start showing on your own account in about an hour after the transaction. You will definitely get charged overdraft!  


  2. They will probably charge your account the same day.

    If you don't have enough money, the bank might reject the charge.  Most, however, let it go through and then charge you a big fee.  

    If they let the charge go through, and you deposit money the same day, you might not get a fee.  It depends on your bank.

  4. Usually, they will charge the account that day, or the next if the purchase is late in the day. If there is a lack of sufficient funds, they may wait until the next day and try again. After that, they will send you an e-mail saying that your credit card was denied and that the transaction will not go through.
