  1. Wait until the car in front moves,   or call a wrecker.

And be smart enough to not park there again!

  2. With your right foot on the brake shift to Reverse. Use your hand brake or "emergency" brake to "hold" your car from rolling forward while applying "just a wee bit of acceleration and then release your handbrake/emergency brake as your car begins to move back to a point where you can drive forward and out of your parking space. It's a good idea to learn how to use your "emergency" brake on hills to prevent you from rolling back at stop signs or traffic lights. With practice it will become easy.

  3. With an automatic : selector in "R" obviously, then use of the handbrake and accelerator (gently, of course)

With a manual : clutch to just above "biting point" then as above (a hill start of sorts, in other words)?

  4. Why are the tires slipping? If you'd replace them before they went bald they wouldn't slip.

  5. if your vehicle has no traction, you have to get it towed out of the situation. call a tow truck or join a auto group for this type of situation like AAA.

  6. Tie the car to something farther up the hill that is strong and unable to move, such as a large oak tree, so that the car cannot go down/forward.  Make sure to use something that will not snap.  Seatbelts work well, because they are already connected to the vehicle and very strong.  When you back up, stop frequently to adjust the rope/cable to take up the slack.  Do not get it tangled around your axle.

  7. Slipping due to ice, snow, dirt, mud or what ????

Let some air out of the tires so that you can get better tracking.

  8. Do you have a manual tranny?

If you have automatic tranny, you should NOT roll forward if the gear is in R (reverse).

Either way, you can use the hand brakes first.  Then give it some gas (in R) then slowly release the hand brakes.

    Good Luck...
