If I pay cash into a different branch of the same bank, will my balance still update instantly? (UK ONLY)

I have a current account with HBOS. If I pay cash into my 'home' account (the branch my account is registered at) the cash goes into my account straightaway, and is available instantly.

If I pay cash into my account in a different branch of the same bank, will it still go into my account straight away, or will it take a working day/overnight) to process and show up in my account?

it goes straight into your account and you can use it right away

It will go in instantly. I bank with Lloyds and pay in cash regularly into a branch that is not my account holding branch and when I get home and check online the money is in the account.

it will go into the account instantly. It is all connected to the same system at the head office anyway.

Not yet for cheques, but I think this is coming down the line soon
