  1. yes you do,,

  2. Yes you get paid out if it finishes 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th. some bookies will even payout 5th

£2.50 Each- way is the same as placing two seperate bets on the same horse. £2.50 goes on the horse to win and £2.50 goes on the horse to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th (total bet £5

The Grand National will be paid out by most major bookies as the first 4 and at 1/4 odds

Most bookmakers will give you a receipt when you place your bet and it will tell you your returns on it if you have taken the price.

If you havn't taken the price then work out your returns as follows.

    If winner at 9/1

    9 x 1.25 + 2 x stake (2.50) gives you your total return including your £5 stake back

    If placed at 9/1 i.e 2nd, 3rd or 4th

9 divided by 4 + 1 x £2.50 this will give your return including your £2.50 place stake.
