Question:

If I plan on gauging my ears to a 0g, should I space my other piercings from my that part of lobe?

My main lobe holes are at a 14g right now. I plan on getting eventually to a 0g (or possibly 00).

I guess my question is;

Will it kind of push the space around it out? If I have another piercing about 1/4" above it, will it push that all weird, or will it be fine?

  1. As the jumps between sizes get larger, you should start using tapers, or taping.

    I used to have 4 lobe piercings, I'm now down to 3 as the stretched ones put pressure on the others as the gap between got smaller, and it just wasn't very pretty, and the holes kinda went slitty. Though they were fine for me up until 9/16.

    Cheap tapers & plugs

    though the steel ones are better, and come in smaller sizes, and they're only a dollar or so more. Some people react oddly to acyrlic tapers, but most are okay.

    It would be better to buy tapers, and make sure you buy lube too.

  2. i used to have my ears at 00, as time went on the "space around it" did become limited, so i would space them out. as for the tapers, everyone is different, i had a hard time without tapers so i would always use them, but some people have no trouble.

  3. You stretch your ears, you don't gauge them. Just helping with the terminology. It depends on you, and how long you care to wait. The method you are talking about is called dead stretching, if you get something with a little bit of weight...for example solid Surgical steel plugs instead of double flare jewelry then it should be ok to wait a few weeks or a couple months even until the jewelry feels loose, and then gently push the bigger size through. I will say in your journey to 0ga, I honestly believe the 8 to 6 is the most painful without tapers.

    I ALMOST Forgot, if the other holes are a typical size (20 or 18) I would just wait until you stretched up higher and if they start to look bad you can take the small ones out, but going to 0 shouldn't cause that many problems as far as placement of the other piercings goes.
