Is it like 1:65,000 or something or does it not go down by that much? I am good at math, but i keep getting confusing answers from people. I know they are stupid odds though, but am just curious. I play this game once in a while called Treasure Hunt from PA lottery. Thanks!

  1. 5:65,000, that first number represents how many tickets you bought

  2. odds of winning the lottery do not change much when you buy more tickets, if the odds are 1:142,500, than 5 tickets would be 5:142,500

1 ticket has .0007% chance of winning

    5 tickets has a .0035 % chance of winning,

    Still not good~!

  3. You will have the same odds on each ticket depending on 'shared win' game rules. Otherwise, why not just buy 142,500 specific tickets whenever the pot goes over $142,500?

It's an okay way to donate to older residents I guess - minus the admin costs :)

Dr. math addresses it http://mathforum.org/dr.math/faq/faq.pro... combination and permutation will give you the definitive answer and good reason to believe it :)
