  1. I changed my mind

  2. if you signed the paper work and drove off the lot...its yours.  Only the dealer can let you out of the deal....and they may, you have to ask.  But dont think they have to do anything, because they dont.  You signed a legally binding contract, remember that.  an for the guy above me that said you have three days...blah blah blah..you dont.  I had a customer one time buy a jeep without his wifes approval.  He came in fired up demanding we undo the deal and that he had "3 days..blah blah blah".  So I called our dealership attorney, and on speaker phone he popped this guys balloon so fast I saw him turn white when he realized he had to go back outside and tell his wife they were going home in there new jeep.  the moral of the story ....you now own that car..period

  3. Understand that car sales are final, and the dealer is not obligated to help you in any way. Then ask them, the worst thing they can do is say no.

  4. Try telling him the truth. That generally works.

  5. You can say anything you want, but you will not get your money back.  And there is NO 3 day right to recind.  You own it no matter what.

  6. UGH -- you do not have a "72-hour" cooling-off period. That does not apply to car purchases. I wish folks would stop throwing that out there.

Your only option is to talk to them and see if you can back out. Some dealers will, most won't. Offer to give them a $100 courtesy fee for their trouble.

  7. This isn't an opinion, this is the law:  No state in the U.S. provides a clause that allows buyers to return a car for any other reason than the lemon law.  With the exception of CA which allows you to return the car only if you purchased the optional "right" to do so.

There have been instances where a dealer will "unwind" the deal as long as they haven't sent the MV paperwork, or sent for funding.  But, this is the dealers choice, and they may only do so to get you in a different car on their lot.  Don't expect that they will though, most will not even consider it.

So you can say whatever you want, chances are they will not allow you to bring it back.

  8. Wow - I just thought of a GREAT way to impress my dates!!!

Think about it - if you could buy a car one day and return it the next, there would be thousands of people 'buying' cars and driving them overnight, and returning them the next day.

According to every law on the books, you bought it, you own it. End of story.  Some dealers may offer you an exchange policy whereby you can get something else from them within 3 days, but those are few and far between.

Enjoy your new car, and don't forget to make the payments on time, or someone else will be enjoying it for you!

  9. Tell him the truth.

  10. Nothing.

You bought it, You own it.

You can't change your mind and drive the car for a day for free.

  11. Tell him the truth. Its far better than fibs!
