If I put Mod Podge over PHOTO PAPER will it smudge?

Hi I am putting a lot of pictures onto one of those tri-fold cardboard poster-boards, and I have some regular paper ones and also some high-gloss photos (on photo paper) but I am wondering if it is going to smudge or ruin the photos?

Thanxx.

  1. Generally "photo papers" are waterproof even if "ink" was used on them (from an inkjet printer, e.g.) rather than toner.

Glossy photo papers may resist the glue a bit though because they're so slick... if that happens, you could try first lightly spraying the photo paper with an acrylic spray then drying before applying the decoupage medium, which should give the paper's surface some tooth for the glue/sealer to grab onto.

Photo papers are also much thicker than regular papers though, so many more coats of ModPodge or other decoupage medium will be required to make the area around them level with the top of the pieces of paper.
