If I put a car in someones name and it was totaled and they keep the check can I do anything about it?

I put a car in my sisters name and it was totaled out but she kept the insurance check and I am the one that bought the car.

i dont think so because the car is in the other persons name

u learn from your mistakes  dont you......    sounds like u got a sister like i do    A THIEF.. there aint much u can probably do about it since the check and car was in her name   even though you paid 4 the car.  if u paid your payments with a check i hope u still got the copy of the returned check and you mght b able to take it to small claims court. sorry to hear  about that ordeal

if the title was in her name, the check will go to her.

The check went to and should have went to the owner of the car. Since you were not the owner, why would you expect to have them send the check to you ? or to me? or to anyone else?  Your issue is with your Sister, no one else
