Question:

If I put an ad up offering $25 an hour for someone to come over and show me how to do some computer things...?

Like, how to put things onto e-bay and how to download pictures onto my computer and put them on websites. And what about how to scan pictures? And one other thing, how to get my printer to stop printing the same thing over and over again? I just need some basic help that'd probably take a few hours maybe in one visit or two. That'd be $75! I can't afford GEEK SQUAD! Or is $25 a bit cheap? What about $40 an hour??? I mean, $25 an hour is like what you'd make at McDonalds in 3 or 4 hours. $40 an hour is like 5 or 6 hours! I was just going to post it at my local grocery store like for some highschool student. Maybe, $40 would be the fairest 'cause probably $8 would be used to go back and forth to my house. WHAT DO YOU THINK? WOULD YOU DO IT??? Or is it a stupid idea? Plus, I'm hot! That's a bonus! LOL!

  1. I think it's a very generous price, but please be careful about inviting a stranger into your home.  Have a friend present, preferably a large, mean-looking one ;)

As for learning eBay, you can learn a lot just by reading on their site -- the Selling and Help sections are pretty straight forward.

    Good luck.

  2. I suggest you contact a local university. There are lots of poor college kids looking to earn some extra money.

  3. I think it would be better to look for people offering those services through a store or school, or possibly Craigslist, rather than trusting someone with no references to come to your home.

$25/hour is too cheap.  You're asking for help from an expert, and they work for far more than McDonald's pay.  You could probably get someone for $40/hour, but I'm sure they'd have a two-hour minimum.

  4. Hi Emma,

I will do it for free,

Please tell me your problems, one-by-one and I will try to find an solution for it, or try to find a way you can fix it yourself.

    How about that?

    R.

  5. Sounds too good to be true...
