  1. To teach in America, you have to hold a certificate or license for the state in which you will be working.  It is very likely that you will need additional university credits.  You may also need to pass a test.  Check the website for the education departments in the states that interest you.

Teachers moving from one state to another have to go through the same thing.  They don't make it easy!

Private or parochial schools are allowed to hire uncertified teachers in my state.  They also don't pay as well.

  2. pretty sure you would have to pass an american assesement test.

Ask the TTA or GTTR for advice.

  3. In the USA, the requirements for teaching vary considerably from state to state.  To determine if you would be able to qualify for a teaching credential you FIRST have to determine the state(s) you are interested in living in.

(Believe it or not, this applies to US teachers as well, being qualified in one state does NOT necessarily make you fully qualified in another)

Once you've decided which state you are interested in, either check their credentialling website, or write the teacher credentialling (or licensing) office.  Send them your transcripts of courses taken, and they'll tell you what credentials (if any) you qualify for, and what course(s) you may need to take.

    I know this is complicated.

Oh, by the way...this only applies to public (government funded) schools.  Private schools have their own rules.

  4. That's a big "if" I'd say.  Oh ok it's a typo, I'll give you that. Teach in America? Sorry I really don't know.
