  2. Nope, You won't lose your benefits. Just make sure if you are on EB that the state you move to is also in an EB high unemployment period. Right now we have a Tier III being voted on tomorrow Tuesday, Oct 13. If you have an extra 20 weeks coming as you live in a state with a 9.0 unemployed rate and move to a state with 8.0 only...no you will lose 6 weeks and only get 13. Also you get whatever your liable state pays sent to your agent state where you will now reside. People move all the time! Unemployment is a insurance. Insurance carriers never want to show their hand too much. They play it close to the chest. Gad, look at New Orleans. Everybocy knows the rule for Social security disability and regualr SSI. Everybody know how to get the free medicaid card too. That even pays for glasses and to spay or neuter your pet. No Public Option will be that darn good. Word of mouth can change whether a established paradigm still works. But after this recession almost everyone will be savvy to the rules. and they do NOT give the people at the call centers any info that will give you the upper hand. Some may know anyhow but they certainly arent educated to help YOU get most out of THEM. Surf the net. Use the information age before the govt puts a stronghold on it.

  4. I am currently looking into this myself.  I have done this before and have retained benefits; there is usually no waiting time, or it defeats the purpose of unemployment benefits.  My experience about 10 years ago is that you will receive an adjusted rate depending upon the state you are in, i.e., I will not get the Connecticut weekly amount if I move to Ohio, but my weeks remaining will stay the same.
