Question:

If I refund an item sold on Ebay, can buyer still leave feedback?

Someone purchased an item from me, but their account and their actions just seem fishy to me. (They want item shipped to address not listed in Paypal, and said they cannot get into paypal to add their shipping address). Sounds like they got into someone else's ebay account.

I want to just refund the transaction, but can't they still leave negative feedback if I do that and they get mad?

  1. I've left feedback for refunded transactions, and I believe it is still allowed.  Sounds like you should report the buyer to ebay and/or paypal.  That does seem very fishy!

  2. Don't do anything until you get in touch with eBay and see if this buyer is legit or what, their phone # is 408-376-7400, or go right onto the site and go to live chat. The buyer can still leave you feedback but if it is what you believe it is ( a fraudulent buyer) ebay will remove the feedback.

  3. they can leave negative feedback for any reason they choose regardless of your actions,  and now that sellers can't leave feedback on buyers, they are that much more inclined to do so.  (i.e. you can't neg them back like you used to be able to)

  4. Yes they can leave feedback. But you can choose the option not to complete sale right after you send them the refund. The link is in the same place the unpaid item form is. Write them a letter saying your sorry knowmatter what the issue. If you think there is a problem coming tell ebay now. There is a new link to report buyers who leave nfb too. If the address is not PP confirmed you can refund the money and they cant leave FB. There is a option to refund money for not being confirmed. HAd to ad that forgot about it. I do it all the time.
