I'm trying to sell my house through a realtor right now, but we aren't getting any luck. Our contract period is until October. Can I rent the house myself afterwords if we don't sell by then and not owe him any money? Or does the 60 day period thing affect renting as well and I owe him money?

  1. I think it depends on the terms of your agreement with the realtor and the laws of your state.

  2. Read the contract. If it doesn't have some whacky rule about after the contract then that loser should not get a penny. Next time ask friends or neighbors which successful realtors they have used before you sign a contract.

  3. if your contract is expired and you dont sell it you rent it you dont owe him a dime
