  1. It really does depend on your diet.  Running for 45 minutes will help you burn about an extra 300 - 500 calories today.  That can easily be negated if you are drinking high calorie drinks or snacks every day.  If you can keep a 2000 calorie diet, you should be able to lose a couple pounds a month.

Dieting is also important because ideally you want to run everday but that probably won't happen.  Having a proper diet will help boost your moral for days when you can't run.  Also, for best results it is best to mix cardio with muscle building exercises.  Muscle needs more calories to sustain itself everyday so the more muscle you have the more calories you burn daily! Quick tip: Eating a lot of sugar causes your body to store fat, and not eating for long periods of time also causes your body to store fat (both can be verified with a google search).  Most importantly, slow and steady wins the race it will take a while to reach your goal.  Good luck!

  2. It's so hard to say, it depends on how fast you run and all that. I'd say if you eat right and exercise you'll lose weight quickly. Eating right is almost more important than exercise. You can lose weight quickly and easily by avoiding sugary drinks and eating a really healthy diet.

  3. A few months, but you definately will!

If you truely want to lose weight, keep in mind that it may take TIME for your body to get into "weight loss" mode... If you run for 45 mins/day though, your body will adjust pretty fast!

I started jogging 4 months ago, and I LITERALLY did not see any weight loss at all for the first whole MONTH!

But after that first month, the weight started coming off REALLY quick... In the following 3 months, I lost 35 lbs.... and I'm pretty much losing weight every week now.

I started running on the treadmill at 5.0 miles/hr for 20 mins (and could barely catch my breath), and now I can easily run at 6.0 miles/hr for 40 mins, non-stop. I went from 160 lbs to about 125-130 lbs.

Hope your experience goes well! Remember that quitting is not an option (slow down if you have to, but never ever quit!). It would probably help keep you on tract if you kept a blog of your routine (that definately helped me!), and your week-by-week weight.

    Good luck!
