If I say "I was with him" or "he was with me" does this mean we were having s*x?

I'm not English and I was talking to a friend (norwegian) and I said these sentences and I was asked if I had s*x with this guy!

So how can I say in English that I was in the same place with a boy? In my language "I was with him" is perfect.

  1. yeah i think your friend should have understood what you meant too.

  2. "I was with him" - means exactly that: you were in the same place with a boy.

"I got with him" - suggests you had s*x

  3. Yes it sounds as though you did something like that. Nowadays, post-introduction-to-rock'n'roll era us English folk think a lot of perversive things.

  4. normally' i was with him 'means i was in a relationship with him, not necessarily having s*x with him. if you want to avoid misunderstandings just say "i met this guy (at tht place)" or just say i was with him at that place( make sure that u say that u were with him at a specific place and not generally with him.

  5. the both are correct

  6. You did fine.  Sometimes, English speakers use euphemisms for "having s*x," and being "with" somebody is one of those euphemisms (like "sleeping with"), but most people would understand from the context of what you were saying that you just meant you were in the same place.
