  1. O.o that's rather scary, but according to the internet (which is most likely right) the best thing to do to be safe from black bears is to avoid them all together.

Talk loudly so if any of them are nearby, they'll hear you and most likely leave the area. Now if that doesn't work and they come within three feet of you, stand your ground and make yourself look big. Because a lot of wild creatures are really more scared of us than we are of them ^^. If you crouch down (or play dead) that would make the bear think you're weak, and hence an easy target to attack.

Either way, I highly doubt a bear would decide to come within three feet of you, they're much to timid, visit http://www.wikihow.com/Escape-from-a-Bea... for more information though.

  2. ask him if he has a car, and if he has, ask if he can take you to shops to buy some milk and bread. if he asks you for any gas money then just say "no thanks i will wait fot the next bear"

  3. Back away slowly. Most of the time they won't get to close to you anyway. :~)

  4. play dead

  5. I agree with back away slowly, avoid eye contact, as this is aggression to the bear. If he comes at you, make yourself as big as possible(nice to have a stick) and yell loud. Don't act afraid. If attacked, roll up in a ball and play dead. Blk. bears are not meat eaters normally. Best to avoid bear altogether by tying a bell on backpack or sing and make noise as you walk. It warns the bear that you are coming. Worst bear to see is a baby bear.

  6. If there is a hill near by, run up it  (bears cant climb hills)

    If not stay still

  7. kablamm

  8. black bears aren't aggressive, unless you are near there baby, so don't worry.  But i live in a wooded area and black bears go through the garbage cans for food, so i am very used to them.  However if one is near you, just back away slowly, they eat berries and plants and don't want to eat you! dont worry!

  9. The best way to avoid an encounter is to make sure the bear knows you are coming, they will probably try to avoid you.  Talk as you are walking around and make noise, bears don't usually WANT to see people so they will try to avoid you if they can.

DO NOT try and run.  Bears can run faster than the fastest human alive.  (and they can run just fine up hill)  Plus when you run they will see you as prey.

If you do see a bear make sure it knows you are there.  Talk to it in a calm voice and move your arms from your sides to up over your head to let it know you are a human.  Then slowly back away.
