If I sell my Tivo to a friend will it work for them?

I have a full lifetime subscription on it. I'm just looking to upgrade my Tivo and was wanting to get rid of the old one.

Yes, as a rule a lifetime subscription follows the unit, not the owner, so that actually increases the value of the tivo.

Tivo will make exceptions, but usually only if there is damaged hardware involved (ie, the smoke came out of your old one), and even then they are hard to get.
