I am 13, and I dream of being in the 2012 Olympics for the USA swim team. I will be 17 then. If I can somehow balance school, swimming, and stuff, do you think this is realisticly possible?

  1. If you put your heart into it and work super hard at it I think you possibly could be in the 2012 olympics. Push for it , good luck.

  2. if you start training now, you could easily make it.  Depends on how good you are now and how willing you are to make it all work?

  3. Sure. Its never too late to start. 13 is still pretty young and by 2012 you should have enough experience. You might not place in the top 5. I think by 2016 you will be in the top five and still young only 21.

  4. I hate to be a spoilsport, but realistically, I don't think so. If you've just started swimming, it'd be pretty darn hard to make the Olympics. Remember, the Olympic USA swim team is the best of THE BEST swimmers in the U.S.

But to tell you the truth, if you work hard and put all your strength into it, you'll have a chance. You should be fit both mentally and physically, and emotionally would help loads, too. (: But you should be willing to give way more than 100% effort.

  5. To be honest, is a little too late..

  6. If you are just starting, I would say no (sorry...) If you are pretty good and intend to really focus and work hard then I would say you might have a pretty food chance. Remember, there's always 2016 which might be held in Chicago. Otherwise keep practicing.
